There is a recent news story about an awesome new device called the Raspberry Pi. Here’s the gist: some really smart guys built a prototype of a computer in the form factor of a USB stick. But that’s nothing new. Devices like the SheevaPlug have been around for a couple of years now. So what’s the big deal about this one?
Why the $25 computer won't cut it (yet)
First run in almost two weeks
It’s frustrating how easy it is to stop doing something. But I finally managed to get back out and run last night after two weeks without anything. I still haven’t gotten to writing my recap of the polar plunge and strut from January, but I promise it’s coming (with pictures and video!).
The most useful text message... EVER.
If you have read through my archives (before last month, that wouldn’t have taken too long), you know that I get a kick when terrorists’ plans go awry. On New Year’s Eve a suicide bomber was planning to blow herself up near Red Square in Moscow, Russia. Unfortunately for her, the cell phone she was planning to use as the detonator received a text from her wireless carrier wishing her a happy new year. This text set off the bomb, killing her and foiling her plan to kill innocent people.
This might be a record
I had Becca help me pin my headphone cord to my shirt, because there are few things more annoying than your earbuds getting pulled out midway through a run.
Finally got to run outside again...
After all the snow we’ve had, I finally got a chance to run outside again. This is a good thing, considering I’m doing an outdoor 5k in just 4 more days. I also got to take my dog with me, which got him out of the house for the first time in over a week. He loves to go run with me, but with the roads the way they have been it’s all I can do to keep from falling over as it is.
